Celebrating 45 years and a new chapter:
Earn gift cards and win a trip to Europe
This year is a double milestone for us. Avanti Destinations is celebrating our 45th anniversary, and we're doing it as a Certified B Corporation. We couldn't have reached either one without you, the Travel Advisors who trust us with their clients' journeys, so we launched a thank-you in October: gift cards that grow with every qualified booking. Now we're sweetening the deal. Book United Airlines flights through Avanti for a chance to win a trip to Europe of your own, with extra raffle entries for Premium and Business cabin bookings.

- 1st and 2nd bookings: $25 gift card per booking
- 3rd and 4th bookings: $50 gift card per booking
- 5th booking and beyond: $100 gift card per booking
Each booking must have a minimum land value of $5,000. There is nothing to redeem, because Avanti applies the promotion to all qualified bookings. Bookings can be made online, by phone, or by email, and there is no limit to the number of qualified bookings an advisor can make.

Why Avanti Destinations Became a Certified B Corp in 2026
Avanti has been certified as a B Corporation in all three of its main offices: Portland, Oregon; Barcelona, Spain; and Manchester, England. The company meets third-party standards across five areas (governance, workers, community, environment, and customers) and is one of a small but growing group of U.S.-headquartered tour operators to earn the designation. Since 1981, Avanti has sold custom vacations exclusively through travel advisors.
“B Corporation standards are in alignment with our company values, and they give us a framework not only to do good now, but to continue to do even more good in the future,” said Paul Barry, CEO of Avanti.
The road to certification
Certification requires at least 80 points on a verified assessment (Avanti scored 81.1; the average is 50.9) and recertification every three years at a higher level. After Avanti decided to apply in 2024, an internal audit led by Alison Atkinson, Commercial Director in Barcelona, found it about 20 points short. “To achieve certification, we needed to clearly document policies and procedures, as well as implement additional policies and programs,” Atkinson said, including a new animal welfare policy ensuring suppliers’ tours do not harm animals or wildlife.

Sustainability you can book: Avanti Footprint
Introduced by Atkinson in mid-2025, Footprint helps advisors identify hotels, transfers, and tours whose suppliers have made a significant commitment to sustainability. More than 2,000 products now carry a green three-leaf logo on Avanti’s advisor portal after a supplier survey and internal fact-check.

A few of the stays featured in the program show what this looks like:
St. Ermin’s Hotel, London: home to 350,000 rooftop bees and a kitchen garden that produces fresh ingredients, supporting urban farming and pollinators.
Palacio del Inka, Cuzco: partners with local food banks to donate surplus meals, reducing food waste while addressing community hunger.
Alila Manggis, Indonesia: actively restores coral populations and protects coastal ecosystems through its underwater garden.
Albus Hotel, Amsterdam: Green Key certified and fully CO₂-neutral, with a focus on cutting waste and saving energy.
“Symbiotic” tourism
Because long-haul flights make travelers’ carbon footprint large, Avanti focuses on “symbiotic” tourism: “working hard to benefit the local communities where our travelers go,” Barry said, through supplier initiatives in wildlife protection, local business, and community-building.
What it means for travel advisors
Certification and Footprint let advisors build vetted sustainability options into custom itineraries without researching every supplier, and share the certification with clients who care about who they travel with. Avanti plans to keep improving, including growing Footprint.
What’s next
Certification is a starting point. Because B Corps must recertify every three years at a higher level, Avanti is committed to continuing to improve, including growing its Footprint offerings.
