You may not know Tatiana by name, but chances are you've come across some of the immersive, nature-focused travel experiences she’s helped bring to life. As a Product Manager at Avanti Destinations, she plays a central role in shaping our offerings across the Nordic countries including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. With a global background in travel, Tatiana brings both passion and precision to her work. Her two years at Avanti have been a natural extension of her travel industry roots, starting in Brazil at a travel agency and tour operator, and later working for DMCs in Malta and beyond. Now based in Barcelona, she is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong supplier relationships, and love of crafting itineraries that go beyond the expected. What Excites You About Working at Avanti? “Avanti is a place that truly lets you grow. I’ve felt supported from the start and am constantly learning from the experience around me. It’s a team that values potential and gives you the space to develop it. There’s also a great sense of purpose. Everything we do is aimed at delivering high-quality, meaningful travel experiences.”
What is Something People Might Not Know About Avanti? “In addition to our Portland headquarters, we also have an office in Manchester, where our Travel Consultants cover extended hours, and another in Barcelona, home to our European Product Managers and an outstanding in-travel team who assist clients with last-minute needs. This setup keeps us closer to key suppliers, strengthens relationships, and ensures we can respond quickly within the same time zone. All of our teams take quality seriously. Every product we offer is carefully vetted, and we work hard to maintain high standards across the board. Our Product Managers are deeply knowledgeable about their regions, and we maintain strong, trusted relationships with our suppliers. That collaboration allows us to develop exclusive products, unique hotel perks, and standout experiences that our Travel Advisors can confidently offer to clients.”
What’s New from Your Regions? “We’re continuing to expand across the Nordic countries, especially in off-the-beaten-path areas. We're launching new Viking-focused itineraries that connect cities like Stockholm, Uppsala, and Birka, and tours in Roskilde, Odense, and Aalborg, Denmark. We are developing a multi-country Scandinavia tour. We've added more tours in Iceland, like snorkeling between the 2 continents, a tour to the Diamond Beach & Glacial lagoon, the Silver Circle, and amazing new properties added.”
What Are Some of Your Recommended Destinations? “Hidden gems are the best! In Iceland, discover Hrunalaug Hot Springs, a secluded spot known mostly to locals. It's peaceful, authentic, and surrounded by nature. In Copenhagen, don't miss City Hall. It's open to the public and surprisingly overlooked. It’s a beautiful building with free entry. If you are near Bergen, Norway, go check out the stunning old wooden church just a short train ride away. It's straight out of a postcard, and well worth the visit."
Where Else Have You Traveled? “I've traveled to nearly 40 countries, including most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and parts of North and South America. I also love wildlife encounters like swimming with whale sharks in Cancun, and dolphins and sea lions in various parts of the world. Iceland might be my new favorite. I went recently, and it just blew me away. But Australia will always be close to my heart.”
What’s Your Top Travel Tip? “In the Nordic countries, layers are key! Summer doesn’t always mean hot weather. It can be windy and cool, especially near the coast. Bring a light, windproof jacket and good walking shoes. And in winter, invest in high-quality thermal layers. Your comfort will make all the difference.”
Bonus Tip "When traveling during the chillier months , remember that smartphone batteries run out very quickly in cold temperatures. Always carry a power bank with you!"
What Are Your Goals for the Coming Year? “My biggest goal is to grow awareness and sales in the Nordic region. I want to help our Travel Advisors discover more of what lies beyond the capitals. There’s so much beauty and culture in the smaller cities and countryside. I’m also working on enhancing our current offerings and continuing to bring in new destinations and experiences that inspire travelers to see the Nordics differently.”
"Solar activity in 2025 and 2026 is forecasted to be particularly strong, creating excellent conditions for Northern Lights viewing. For clients interested in experiencing this phenomenon, I recommend booking at least four months in advance to secure availability.”
