From the Peace Memorial Park, make your way to the towering Hiroshima Castle, also known as ‘Carp Castle’. Originally build in the 1590s, it was reconstructed in 1958 and now serves as a museum focused on the city’s pre-WWII history.
Just an hour away from Hiroshima, visit the lovely town of Kurashiki. Thanks to its timeless character, it has been the filming location for many famous productions, including Marvel’s Wolverine. An important trading hub during the Edo period, it is still an ideal destination to indulge in local products from all of the surrounding areas. Just a short ferry ride from Hiroshima, the peaceful island of Miyajima has been designated as one of Japan’s 3 Most Beautiful Sights.
