The region not only boasts an immense historical heritage, but it is also home of some of the most refined flavors in Japan. In this article we will briefly mention some of the region’s highlights that attract more and more visitors each year.

Hiroshima

Starting with modern Hiroshima, explore the city that has been rebuilt since the calamitous atomic bomb. Although most of its history has been swept away by the shockwave, much remains to tell the tale. From the Peace Memorial Park, make your way to the towering Hiroshima Castle, also known as ‘Carp Castle’. Originally build in the 1590s, it was reconstructed in 1958 and now serves as a museum focused on the city’s pre-WWII history.
